10月29日、ハアパイでそろばん大会がありました
『そろばん大会の企画及び運営の支援』は、要請内容のうちの一つですが、
今回ハアパイに赴任して5日目だったので、残念ながら私が準備したことというのは特になく… 
先輩隊員のToruさん、hironoさんがハアパイの子どもたちの為にたくさん準備してくださっていました
トンガでは、小学3年生から5年生までの子どもはそろばんを学校で学ぶことになっています
今回の大会は、子ども達のモチベーションアップということでした
参加者は5校から185名の子ども達

先生も数名参加してくださいました
来年の大会は私がたくさんサポートしていきたいと思います
on 29th Oct., there was a soroban competition in Ha’apai.
Soroban means abacus in Japanese.
I just arrived in HP on 25th Oct, so I didn’t have enough time to prepare for the competition!
But two Japanese volunteers, Toru and Hirono , they prepared a lot.
In Tonga, students who are in grades 3, 4 and 5 in primary school must study the soroban.
The purpose of this competition was to increase their motivation for soroban study. The number of participants was 185 from 5 primary schools.
Look at their serious faces!!!!!! Some teachers also joined!!!
I will support the planning and management of abacus competitions a lot next year!!!!!!!!!!
