一度は映画では聞いた事あるかと思いますが、Honey, Darling, Love, Sweetheart などで相手を呼ぶことがよくあります
そして、アメリカは日本ほどのニックネームの文化はありません。。
だいたいファーストネームで呼ぶし、たまーに私を昔から知ってる人にラストネームで呼ばれると、
あーそーいえば自分のラストネームはシオノメだったーなんて思います。(アメリカかぶれしてるわけではないですよ
)もちろん、自己紹介の際はファーストネームだけです
ハニーやダーリンとか聞くと恋人をイメージするかと思いますが、相手との関係性や距離感は関係ない気がします
結構前に銀行に行った際に自分番がきて
“Sweetheart”
と呼ばれた時に、
初対面にスウィートハート、、、銀行で、、
と妙に考えてしまって、
私はまだこのカルチャーになれないなーと実感しました。
直訳すると
Honey...はちみつ、素敵な人、みつのようなもの
Sweetheart...心優しい人、寛大人
日本語に置き換えて呼んでるのをイメージするとなんかぞっとする。。。
他の英語圏はもちろん、私の知る限りフランスやスペインにもこういった文化はあります
中国や韓国などアジア圏にはあるのかな
