SUZUKI Wagon R

I’d like to talk about “Do you know the difference?”, as a special program.
The first time, the car which I’d like to talk is Suzuki Wagon R.

K-car (軽自動車) is popular in Japan.
In late years approximately 40% of unit sales of new cars are K-car.

Suzuki Wagon R is one of the top sales car for a long time.
It became 5th generation model by full model change at Sep. 2012.
And, it is the best of low fuel consumption in K-car class by a fuel-efficient technology called “Ene-Charge”.

The car is this one.

And former model (4th generation model) is that one.

You might look the same car of these two cars (5th generation and 4th generation).ガーン

In case of full model change, a car styling is usually changed greatly to emphasize newness.
But you might not understand a difference of these two cars.カゼ

TOYOTA Crown - The car which my father loves.

Today, I'd like to talk about my father's car history.

My father loves Toyota Crown, so he has changed several cars.

Crown which he owned first is 6th generation model.

6th generation model (S11)
TOMO☆MOTORS-crown_01

Do you know this phrase "I'll own Crown in the future! (いつかはクラウン)".
In those days, Crown was a car of longing.

Secondly Crown is 8th generation model.

8th generation model (S13)
TOMO☆MOTORS-crown_02

This car had a small engine (2000cc), but it had a super-charger!

I remember that it had good acceleration performance! wow~!ニコニコ

Third is 9th generation model.

9th generation model (S14)

The round shape body of this car was not popular among my family. ガーン

Fourth, he owned 10th generation model.

10th generation model (S15)

This car had a navigation sysytem.

My family experienced a car navigation system for the first time. ニコニコ

And, now he owns 11th generation model Crown.

He owns this Crown for 10years.

Unfortunately, he has few opportunity to drive this large size car, because he became too old, over seventy years old.

Crown is usually in a garage of my home, and he drives another small car as a second car (Toyota Vitz).

He often talks to me "This Crown may be final car of my life・・・。" しょぼん

But, Recently, he talks to me with bright eyes like a child.

"I want to own this Crown!"

That is the latest model, 14th generation model!!

NISSAN Cedric (Y34) (1999-2004)

Did you watch the People's Honor Award ceremony for Nagashima-san and Matsui-san at Tokyo-Dome yesterday?
I couldn't watch the ceremony without tears for great impression. カゼ

TOMO☆MOTORS-Y34_01

The car which I’d like to introduce today is Nissan Cedric which was carrying great two men in the ceremony.

TOMO☆MOTORS-Y34_02

This car is 10th generation model of Cedric.

It was manufactured from 1994 to 2004.

For long time, Cedric was a large class luxury car to represent Nissan.

However, in Japan, luxury cars as 4-door sedan was not popular.

So, this 10th generation was a final model as Cedric.

Now, the successor model of Cedric is Nissan Fuga.

Cedric was sold not only in Japan but also in United States as "INFINITI M45".

In such a meaning, Cedric is suitable for Matsui-san who played an active part in both two countries, Japan and United States.

But I think that you felt sense of incongruity in Nagashima-san getting into Cedric.

Because, long time ago, he was on TV-CM for Toyota MarkⅡ, competitor of Nissan Cedric.
