My friends back home always ask me
"Do people in Australia really often say 'G'Day Mate'??"
The answer is "YES"
Many Austran people say "Mate"....
For example, when I cut off the way one guy was got through....
He said to me ''Excuse me, Mate"
I was kind of happy, I am not Australian though.
Also, people say"thanks Mate" to cashiers in the supermarket.
This is so called "Mateship"
I love this Mateship!!!!!
スーパーに行くと、レジの人はたいがい"How are you??"っていってレジに通しはじめる。
英語の自信のなさからか "Good Thanks" っていっつもこたえる。
オーストラリアの人は、"Thanks Mate" って答える。
道を歩いてて、男の人にぶつかったとき"Excuse me mate" って言われた。
なんか、移民の多さとうまれたMateshipを実感した。
