私は、JazzとかBluesを歌ったり聞いたりするのがすきなので
よく英語の歌詞で勉強？したりヒアリングしたりしています。
今日は、私が初めて歌ったスタンダード曲で未だ大好きな
スタンダードを英語で紹介しま～す。
この曲は、アメリカを代表するジャズ歌手のビリー・ホリデーが
歌ったことで有名になり、とてもせつないく、なんだか奥深い曲です。
でも、この曲の不思議な魅力は歌詞を訳せば分かるのですが
少女が王子様を待つ心境にもたとえられますし、
いろんな人生を経験した女性が本当の愛にめぐり会いたいという
思いにも訳せるんですね。
