子供や犬にトイレに行きたいか聞いたりするとき
“Do you wanna go potty?”
と言ったりします。
でも、１週間くらい前まで、
pottyをpartyだと思っていた僕。
今まで特に深く考えていなくて、
おしっこに行きたいって聞くのを
パーティーって言うんだ、面白いな
ぐらいにしか思っていなかったんです。
スペルは全然違うし、
英語ネイティブにとっては全然発音も違うらしいけど、
僕の耳には同じように聞こえるんです。。
はぁ、、また新たに難しい言葉を発見しましたｗ
When you ask a child or a dog if s/he wants to go to pee,
people say like this “Do you wanna go potty?”
But I thought people were saying “party”
instead of “potty” until a week ago.
I didn’t think much about it deeply.
I just thought it’s very funny
to use the word “party” for going to pee.
The spelling between “Party” and “Potty” is
completely different,
and the pronunciations of those words are
very different for native English speakers,
but it sounds very close to me.
Ah.. I guess I found another difficult word for me.
