In the days since the devastating earthquakes and tidal waves that struck eastern Japan starting on March 11, 2011, TJF has received countless messages from friends, colleagues, collaborators, and participants in our programs. We are sincerely grateful for your concern and encouragement.
TJF is deeply grieved by the tragic loss of life and livelihood resulting from this unprecedented disaster. We pray that the recovery effort will go forward quickly and that the hardships of the survivors will be overcome as soon as possible. TJF will extend assistance wherever it can.
In many Japanese classes at elementary, junior high, and senior high schools around the world, students are currently undertaking fundraising and other activities to help victims of the quake and tsunami. In this blog, we will be sharing messages and ideas sent to TJF by teachers participating in such projects with their students, with hopes that they will encourage and inspire others.
