I spent this past week using It’s a Curl organic baby curl care on my 3-year-old daughter’s hair. I’ve been trying to find the right balance between moisture and curl control and this product just about has it right.

The Peek-A-Boo Tearless Shampoo  is very good. It lathers up with very little product and cleans completely. My daughter has very thick hair and it typically takes two shampoos to get it clean. Peek-A-Boo did it in one. The Patty Cake Conditioner  worked just as well. It has a light, lavender smell that my daughter liked and it rinsed out quickly leaving her hair tangle-free.

However, the Ring Around the Curlies Leave In Cre’me left a lot to be desired. It was light and smelled wonderful but unless your child has thinner, shorter hair, you’ll have to use a lot of this leave-in conditioner to get the results you need. But the trade off is that using that amount of conditioner will leave your child’s head a bit damp with product.

Overall, this hair care system is good but I’d recommend it for parents of younger babies with shorter hair. Once the hair starts to get longer, you’re gonna need heavier ammo like their other line for kids,
Curly Q’s , which we recently reviewed .

It’s a Curl and Curly Q’s “big sister” is Curls , which was founded by Mahisha Dellinger, a self-described “multi-ethnic, naturally curly woman,” who decided to formulate the line after not being able to find the right products for her unique curls. She found that products were either too heavy, too greasy or too light to offer the control she needed to define her curls and leave her hair looking bouncy. Halle Berry and Nicole Murphy are fans of the Curls line and Madison Pettis and Bill Bellamy’s kids use Curly Q’s.
