タイトルにあるように、来年6月にイギリスのロンドンに臨床アロママッサージの研修ツアーに行くことに”決めました”！
私が認定資格を取るために勉強してきたIFPA (the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists)の日本支部主催で開催されるこのツアー、案内文を読んで参加を即決！
我ながら迷いのない決断に感心したのですが、そこには理由があり、
どうしてもお会いしてみたかったKeith HuntさんとClare Maxwell-Hudsonさんから直接指導が受けられるという、私にとっては一度にアロマセラピーの権威お２人にお会いできるという夢のようなプログラムだったから！
考えただけで興奮して震えます。。。
Keith Hunt氏は、20年以上にもわたりイギリスのロイヤル・フリー病院において、補完療法としてアロマセラピーの臨床マッサージの施術を行っておられ、2013年にはその貢献に対してイギリス王室から勲章が授与されたほどの方です。
一方のClare Maxwell-Hudson氏も、イギリスでの臨床マッサージの草分け的存在の方で、Keith氏の恩師でもある方。
実は私も英語でアロマセラピートリートメントを学ぶために、彼女の著書である"Aromatherapy Massage"という本を入手して勉強していたので、Clare先生には勝手に親近感を感じていました。
ぜひ自分の本を持って行き、Clareさんのサインをいただいてこようと思います♪
今回の研修では、初日にClare先生の特別講義が受けられる他、2日間にわたってロイヤル・フリー病院でKeith先生から理論と実技をみっちり学ぶことができ、3日目には実際に病棟の患者さんへの施術を行うという、とっても密度の濃い内容となっています。
私は医療現場でのアロマトリートメントに従事している訳ではありませんが、『リラクゼーション』という印象がまだまだ強い日本のアロマセラピートリートメントの現状の中、メディカルアロマセラピストコースという課程を修得してきた者として、補完療法としてのアロマセラピートリートメントの可能性をKeith先生からぜひ学びたい。それをまた自分のトリートメントに反映して、お客様により良いサービスをご提供していきたいと思います。
楽しみ！

Good morning, everyone.
As stated in the title, I have "determined" to join the tour to study clinical massage in the UK hospital next June!
The tour is hosted by the Japanese branch of IFPA, the International Foundation of Professional Aromatherapists based in the UK, and I decided in an instant when I got the information.
There is a reason why I made such an immediate decision with no second thought.
To me, it is like a dreamlike program as the program includes teaching sessions by Mr. Keith Hunt and Ms. Clare Maxwell-Hudson, who are both authorities in the aromatherapy treatment field and I really have hoped to meet someday.
I makes me tremble with excitement just thinking about it...
Mr. Hunt has been providing complementary massage therapy at Royal Free Hospital in the UK for patients for over 20 years and was awarded MBE by the Queen in 2013 for his contribution.
On the other hand, Ms. Maxwell-Hudson is an pioneer and legend in the clinical massage field in the UK and Mr. Hunt also learned from her.
I do have book "Aromatherapy Massage" written by Ms. Maxwell-Hudson myself, which I purchased to learn words and phrases related to aromatherapy and massage in English a while ago. And I personally feel a kind of affinity with her. : )
Through this study tour, we will be able to take a special lecture by Ms. Maxwell-Hudson on the first day followed by a 2-day study sessions by Mr. Keith at Royal Free Hospital. And on the third day, we are supposed to give an actual massage treatment to a patient in the Hospital. There would be a lot we will be able to learn through all these.
I myself is not engaged in an aromatherapy treatment in the medical field now, but I personally have a strong urge to change the general recognition on aromatherapy treatment among Japanese as I believe an aromatherapy treatment is not just for relaxation but there are potentials that it can serve as one of the complementary medicines, and I would love to learn a lot from Mr. Keith.
Then, I would like to reflect what I learn from the two authorities in my own aromatherapy treatment and provide better services to my clients!
I am so thrilled!
How will I make hundreds of thousands of Japanese yen available to join this tour???
(I just had more than a 2-week vacation in the US...)
I will think about it!
In any event, I am determined to join the tour!
June 2016... It will be my very first visit to the UK.
