先日、見ている間にどんどん引き込まれたNHKの番組『プロフェッショナル 仕事の流儀』。密着されていたのは、東京のGrand Hyatt Tokyoでコンシェルジュをされている阿部佳さん。

「レ・クレドール」という、一流のコンシェルジュだけが入会を許される世界組織で、名誉会員として日本人で唯一認められているのが、阿部さんだそうです。
彼女が徹底されているのは『攻めのおもてなし』。
やるべきことだけをこなすのではなく、やったほうが良いことはすべてやる。そういう接客の姿勢です。
攻めのおもてなしといっても押し付けではなく、あくまでもゲスト目線。ゲストの言葉の裏や表情から、本当に必要とされていることを感じ取りサービスとして提供する。
一朝一夕に身につくスキルではありませんが、ハートはいつもそこに置き、私もセラピストとして成長していきたいと思います。
プロフェッショナルとは？という問いに対する阿部さんの答えも、勇気がいただけるものでした。
『一つのことに関して、昨日より今日、今日より明日、もっと前に進もう、もっと先を目指そうという努力を、いつも自然に楽しんでいる人』
納得です。私の周りでもプロとして素晴らしい仕事をされている方は、皆さんその点が共通している気がします。

I was drawn into a TV program, "Professionals", broadcasted by NHK the other day. The program featured Ms. Kei Abe. She is the concierge for Grand Hyatt Tokyo.
She is the only active concierge in Japan who is regarded as an honorary member in Les Clefs d'Or, the international foundation in which only the first class concierges in the world can be listed as members.
What makes her different from other is that she makes thoroughgoing effort to provide "aggressive hospitality".
Which means you do whatever you think is good for guests instead of just doing what you are supposed to do.
Aggressive hospitality does not mean being pushy or showing off the skills of concierges. Services have to be considered through the eyes of guests. You've got to understand the needs or wants begins their words or through facial expressions of guests.
It is not a kind of skill you can acquire overnight, however, I would like to keep the philosophy in the center of my heart and make myself to be a good therapist..
Ms. Abe's answer to a question asking what being professional means to her was also a really encouraging one.
"A person with professional mind is a kind of person who enjoy making efforts day be day to be better and aim for higher goals with no sense of duty.
It makes perfect sense to me. I feel that the professional people around me whom I respect has this mindset in common.
I would like to enjoy making efforts to be a good professional therapist
Watching the program made me want to visit Grand Hyatt Tokyo again. I will definitely go have some drinks at The Oak Door Bar next time I go to Tokyo
