今日少し年上のお友達と話していて年齢の話になり、その流れでお互いに衝撃を受けた女性について紹介し合いました。

私からは、この9月で100歳を迎えられるフォトジャーナリストの笹本恒子さん。恒子さんが書かれた『99歳。現在進行形ね。』を読み返す度に背筋がピンと伸びます。そして自分に正直に生きることの大切さ、自分に対して責任を持つことの潔さを再認識します。やっぱり自分の思うように生きて楽しむって素晴らしい！

表紙の女性のあまりの格好良さに、ハートを鷲掴みにされました。

素敵。。

他にもそれぞれ自分のスタイルを楽しんでいる女性がたくさん紹介されているようなので、ぜひ読んでみたいと思います。

全く異なるスタイルの女性ではありますが、自分のスタイルを貫く筋の通ったところは共通しています。

きっと彼女たちは「もうこんな年だから。。」と決して口にすることはないだろうし、年齢を言い訳にすることはないはず。

そういう部分、私も見倣いたいと思います。いつまでも自分らしく日々を楽しむ。そういう女性でいたいです。

I was talking with a friend, who is a little older than me today and our topic eventually turned to be about age. And then I introduced a woman who impressed me so much and she did the same to me.

I told about a photo journalist, Ms. Tsuneko Sasamoto, who is turning 100 in this coming September. Every time I read her book titled "96 years old. Still in the present tense", it makes my back straighten up.

The book teaches me how important to live a life being honest to yourself as well as how cool it is to fulfill your commitments to your own self.

It is just so wonderful to live as you like and enjoy your life.

And my friend told me about a book.

"Advanced Style"

I became so fascinated with the beauty of the woman on the cover.

So beautiful..
It seems like the book introduces many other women who have created the style on their own and I would love to read it through.

They are completely different, however, I think they maintain their own styles in a coherent way to themselves and I feel they have it in common.

They would never have said "I am too old to do (something)..". Or they would never use their age as an excuse for something.

I would like to learn lessons to be a woman like them. Be honest to yourself and enjoy every day in your life.
