My friend whom I had lunch with gave me a candy made by Eitaro Confectionery in Tokyo. It is called "Hane Hitoe (meaning 'a plumage ')"

I have tasted other candies from this confectionery before, however, it was the first experience for me to try Hane Hitoe

The candy was in the form of a plate and I was so touched by the delicate, sophisticated flavor and the texture of it

It seems like the candy was made in a respectful manner so I tasted it with a sense of respect as well

If you taste the candy, you will feel the richness of Japanese sensibility.
It made me so happy

Eitaro Confectionery is a time-honored, traditional confectionery, which was founded in 1857 during Edo Period.
I suppose that they are still loved by people since they have been developing new products as well with carrying on the tradition and techniques at the same time.

There may be things we should be ashamed of in Japan, however, there definitely are many things we can be proud of as well.
And I feel happy about it

There seem to be no shop of Eitaro Confectionary in Osaka area, so it is a bit hard for me to get their candies hereキャンディー
I will try to get some as souvenir if I have a chance to get to Tokyo

I am certain that these candies would be loved not only by Japanese but also by foreign peopleプレゼント
