23日目、写真好きな子どもたち
携帯で写真を撮っていたら、すぐに子どもたちが「撮って」「撮らせて」と、集まってきました。
子どもたちは私のやり方を見て、すぐに使い方を覚えてしまいました。ポーズをとるのも上手です。

All children like photo
When I took a picture by mobile phone, children gathered around me and said "Take me picture! “Let me take a picture!"
After seeing that I took a picture children learned how to take a picture in no time. They also pose very well.
24日目、ガーナの病院 part 2
自分が病気になった時のための医療機関情報を集めるため、近所の私立病院に行きました。ステイ先の8歳の子が道案内してくれました。
ステイ先のおばあちゃんの入院していた病院より小規模の病院です。今は外来のみ対応していますが、まもなく入院病棟を開設するそうです。血液検査、尿検査、CTはありますがX線撮影は無いそうです。事務長さんは超音波検査が何であるか分からないと言っていました。
２階建ての病棟でしたがエレベーターはありません。そういえばガーナに来てからエレベーターは見ていない気がします。

Hospital of Ghana
I went to a private hospital in our neighborhood to gather information when I had sick. The son of my host family who is 8 years old navigates me to the hospital.
The hospital is smaller than another hospital that grandmother of my host family stayed. Nowadays, they only consult out patient, they will soon open new ward. We can get examinations of hemanalysis, urinalysis and CT scan but X-ray.
The administrator said that he didn't know an ultrasound.
There is no elevator in spite of a ward with two stories. That reminds me, I had not seen elevators after coming to Ghana.
25日目、ホームステイプログラム終了
2週間のホームステイ生活も今日で終わり。朝から子どものアイロンがけ作業を手伝いました。水色の上下セットの服装で婚約の儀式に参加するそうです。自分でアイロンをかけて儀式に一人で参加するなんてガーナの子どもはよく躾られています。ホストマザーはお墓参りの後おばあちゃんの病院に行くと言っていました。
お世話になったステイ先の自分の部屋から荷物を自分の住居に移しました。これから約2年、顔見知りになった近所の人との暮らしを楽しみながら、活動にも励みたいと思います。
今日は2週間前と異なる経路でドミトリーに帰ってきました。初めての場所はやはりドキドキしますが、それほど恐怖感は感じませんでした。やはり2週間のステイ生活で、知らず知らずのうちにガーナ人とのコミュニケーションに慣れてきていたようです。
久々に同期と会い、それぞれの体験をお互いに話しました。ホストファミリーも配属先の状況も様々ですが、何とか生活していく心構えができたという表情です。明日は新人歓迎会、先輩隊員達が色々準備しているようで楽しみです。
July 27th (25 days)
Finish of my home stay program
It is the last day of my home stay program. I helped the child of my host mother ironing his clothes. He will join in a ceremony of engagement with setup colored light blue. Children of Ghana have good manners. He ironed own clothes and attend the ceremony alone.
Host mother said that she would visit to her mother after a visit to a grave of our old volunteer in Ghana.
I moved my baggage from host family's house to my bungalow. I will work with good relationship to my neighborhood.
I came back to dormitory through the different way that I came 2 weeks ago. I was a little nervous in new place for me, but I don't feel fear. The experience of living with Ghanaian made me skill up to communicate with Ghanaian while I don't notice of it.
We talk each other about our experience. Situation of their host family and workplace is different, but they had own mental preparedness.
Tomorrow, we have party for new members; old volunteers prepare it for us! I will enjoy tomorrow!
26日目、新人歓迎会
ガーナの先輩方が新隊員歓迎会を開いてくれました。
コンセプトはコスプレ居酒屋だそうです。酔っ払い店長、ドラえもん、バドガール、ダースベーダ―、カオナシ（千と千尋の神隠し）、などなど。
素晴らしい隊員紹介ビデオを作って頂き感激しました！現役隊員紹介も凝っていました。
ガーナのドリンク早飲み競争やアフリカンダンス、懐メロのステージ。かなり笑えました。
新隊員歓迎会の幹事はかなり大変そうです。。

Welcome party
Old volunteers in Ghana hold welcome party for us, new volunteers.
The concept of the party is a cosplay bar. There are drunken man, Doraemon, Budweiser girl, Darth Vader, Kaonashi and so on.
I impressed of elaborate introduction VTR that they made for us and all volunteers in Ghana.
Programs are competition of drinking, African dance and performance of golden oldies. They strike us funny.
It may be very hard to prepare the welcome party
27日目、ホームステイ振り返り
JICAガーナ事務所にて、ホームステイプログラムのフィードバックをしました。そして、日本人とガーナ人ボランティアコーディネーターの方々に対して、ホームステイ中と同じ英語でのプレゼンテーションを行いました。
6人中3人は同じチュイ語を勉強したのですが、若干発音が違いました。同じチュイ語でも2種類あるようです。プレゼンテーションの最後は、現地語の歌で締めました。

Review of home stay program
We gave feedback about home stay program and local language lesson in JICA Ghana office.
3 volunteers learned Twi language, but pronunciation is different. There are 2 types in Twi language. Before closing the presentation I sang a song in Twi language.
28日目、現地語の実地練習
アクラで話されている言葉は任地と同じチュイ語です。ドミトリーやオフィスのガードマン、JICAオフィスの現地スタッフに、現地語を使って簡単な言葉だけですが話せるようになってきました。
オリエンテーション終了後、モバイルWi-Fiを買いました。これでiPadや日本で使っていたスマホでネットが使えます。ガーナにも通信会社が5-6社ありますが、そのうちの1つVodafoneの物にしました。
接続しにくい場合もあるので、2社を使う人が多いようです。2枚SIMカードが入る携帯を使ったり、2台持っているひとが多いです。

Practice of local language
In Accra, they speak Twi language. I can speak easy phrases in Twi language to Security guard of dormitory and office, local staff in JICA office.
After orientation, I bought mobile Wi-Fi. My iPad and smart phone can work as mobile devices with it. There are 5 or 6 internet service providers. I select Vodafone.
Many people sign up 2 providers, because sometimes one of them doesn't connect well. They have a mobile phone accept 2 SIM cards or 2 mobile phones.
29日目、決意表明
首都でのオリエンテーションも今日で終わり、明後日からは任地での生活が始まります。
これからの活動の目標を一人ひとり発表しました。私は、あいさつ以外にも現地語で会話できるようになること、ガーナの障害観とは何か自分なりに理解すること、障害の有無を問わず参加できるスポーツ大会をすること。
ガーナはアフリカの中では比較的治安の良い国と言われていますが、病気や事故で亡くなられたJICA関係者もいます。
今日はそうした方々のお墓参りをしました。自分のために、誰かのために、健康に気を付けて活動を全うしたいと思います。

Declaration of resolve
Today, we finished orientation in the capital, we will start a new life in our work place.
We expressed our goal of own activities. My objective is being acquirable to talk each other except greetings in the local language, understanding what a view of disabilities in Ghana in my own way, holding a sports day regardless of whether people have any disabilities or not.
Ghana is safely than other African countries, but there are some people involved in JICA who died in Ghana cause of the illness and traffic accidents.
We visited to their grave. I hope fulfilling my duties for myself and someone.
30日目、本赴任前日
同期6人の共同生活も終わりです。通常、配属先での活動が始まると3か月はその地を離れてはいけない”3か月ルール”があるのです.でも、今回は総会があるので1か月後には首都に戻ります。
ひとまずそれぞれ離れ離れになるということで、中華料理店で打ち上げパーティーをしました。
これまでなかなか話す機会がなかった、「なぜ自分が今ここにいるのか」について語ることにしました。それぞれの経験や影響を受けた人との出会いがあってみんなここに集まったんだなぁ。
みんなにとって、未来につながる2年間になりますように。
Aug 1st (30 days)
The day before starting a new position
This is the last day living together with 6 friends. Normally, we have a "three months rule" that they have to stay their own work place for three months after starting our activities. But we will back to the capital one month later, because of meeting.
Since, we will get separated from each other; we had a party to celebrate the completion of an orientation program in a china restaurant.
We talk about each other why they are here just now. We gathered because of their own experiences and meeting with someone influence on us！
I wish this two years will be bring about our future.
31日目、再び任地へ
ンサワンに向かうバスに乗ること1時間、駅に到着。しかし、全く見覚えのない景色・・。配属先の職員さんに電話してみたものの自分がどこにいるのか伝えられませんでした。駅の名前もなく地名の分かるものは全くありません。
通行人に頼んで配属先の人に居場所を伝えてもらうことにしました。彼は私の重い荷物を持ってバス乗り場に誘導してくれました。どうやら任地の駅とは違う駅に着いてしまったようです。隣に座った人に「今いる場所の地名を教えて」と尋ねると、「アクラのメインステーション、テマ」とのこと。
ようやく自分がバスを乗り間違えてテマに来てしまったことが分かりました。語学力と注意深さの大切さを感じました。それ以上に実感したのはガーナ人がとっても親切だということ。皆さんご迷惑おかけしました、そして、ありがとう！

Back to my work place
It took about one hour to Nsawam by bus, I arrived at a station. But I haven't the least remembrance of having seen this station. I called a staff of my workplace. But I couldn't explain the place. There was no sign that identified the name of place.
I asked a passerby to let my coworker know the position. He showed me to a bus stop with my heavy baggage. I arrived at the different station. I asked a person next to me, “Excuse me, what the name of this station?" He said, “Main station in Accra, Tema."
With a great deal of the trouble, I noticed that I made a mistake a bus and arrived at Tema city. I really felt importance of language and being careful about everything. I knew that Ghanaians are very kind! I'm afraid I have put you to a great deal of trouble. Thank you so much!
32日目、一人暮らし
今日は食材を買い出しにマーケットへ。運動不足解消のため片道約30分ウォーキングすることにしました。目と鼻の先ほどの距離に住むホストファミリーと話すと、「私のお店で売っていからそこで買ったらいいのに」と言われました。
水やお菓子だけでなく、文房具から野菜から木炭まで売っています。日本でいうコンビニですね。お米、卵、豆乳、トマト、玉ねぎ、ツナ缶、洗剤、室内履き用にビーチサンダル、などなど。プランテーンも買いました。ガーナの自宅での初めての料理はトマトソースのパスタです。
約4ヶ月ぶりの一人暮らし。住みやすくて友達も招くことができる家にアレンジしたいな！
Aug 3rd (32 days)
A single life
Today, I went to a market to buy some food. I walked for 30 minutes to the market to try to compensate for a lack of exercise. I talked with my host mother whose house is only a stone's throw away. She said “Why don't you buy those items in my store?"
She has not only water and snacks but also stationaries, vegetables and charcoals. As it were convenience stores in Japan. I bought rice, eggs, soy milk, tomatoes, onions, canned tuna, detergent, beach sandals and so on. The first dish is pasta with tomato sauce in my home in Ghana.
This is a single life after 4 months absence. I want to arrange my house comfortable to live in and available to invite my friends!
33日目、鍋で炊飯
家に炊飯器がないので、お米を炊く道具は鍋です。タイ米ですがうまく炊けました。夕飯のおかずは何を作ろうかな、と思いながらホストファミリーのお宅に挨拶すると、チキン入りパームナッツスープをごちそうしてくれました。今日の夕飯はこれで終了。
毎日ホストマザーにマッサージでもしてあげなくちゃ(^^)

Rice cooking with a pan
There is no rice cooker in my house, so I used a pan for cooking rice. I cooked Thai rice well. I visited my host mother while thinking a dish for dinner, she gave me palm oil soup with chicken. I finished today's dinner.
I have to massage my host mother everyday :)
