182日目、ガーナで年越し
大晦日でも地元の人はいつもと変わらない日常をすごしています。ホストマザーの家に挨拶に行くと、フーフーをごちそうしてくれました。ガーナの人は夜中に教会に行くそうです。またダンスと歌で新年を祝うのでしょうね。私は年越しうどんとソーセージでガーナの新年を迎えようと思います。
Dec 31st (182 days) spending the year-end in Ghana
Local people spend daily life as usual at the end of the year. When I visited host mother, she gave me “Fufu”. Ghanaians go to church at midnight. I suppose they celebrate New Year with song and dance. I will see the old year out and the New Year in with Udon and sausage.
183日目、ガーナの元日
多くの人が前日教会に行ったためか、家でゆっくりしている人が多いようで、車の交通量も街を歩く人もとても少なかったです。夕方丘に登ると遠くで花火が上がっているのが見えました。私の町は坂が多いけれど、高いビルがなく遠くまでよく見渡せるところが気に入っています。明日から私もさっそく仕事。がんばろう！
Jan 1st (183 days) New Year's Day in Ghana
There is not much traffic and few people passing by the road. I suppose they went a church at midnight and then resting in their home today. I will go to work tomorrow. Do my best!
184日目、仕事はじめ
とくに管理者からの新年の挨拶があるわけでもなく、いつも通りの1日が始まりました。
残り期間はあと1年半、日々に流されないよういろんなことを計画的に進めなくては！

It started as usual without New Year’s speech from director.
My term remain one and a half year, I have to do a lot of things systematic way not to be swept along by daily life!
185日目、日本食でお正月
同期隊員がマイホームに来てくれました。なんと、あんことお餅を持って！生の魚はないけれど、野菜やツナマヨネーズ、卵、ソーセージで手巻きずしができました。幸せな時間ありがとう！
Jan 3rd (185 days) New Year with Japanese foods
One of my volunteers came to my home. She brought Anko and Omochi!
We enjoyed Temaki-sushi with vegetables, tuna mayonnaise, eggs and sausages. Thank you very much for happy time!

世界に散らばる協力隊員が福島県の復興支援イベントに参加します。世界各地で頑張っている人を紹介したり、隊員自身の目標を書いた紙を写真にとって日本のみんなに宣言したり、隊員各自が任地の産物を福島に送り収益を寄付するというもの。成功しますように！
Jan 4th (186 days) oath
JOCV in all over the world will join an event in Fukushima. We introduce peoples who have good activities, write own goal to a paper and take a picture and then, announce it. We also send products made in own place to Fukushima and donate proceeds. I hope it will go well!!

赴任後半年が経過、この時期に活動計画表を作成します。活動目標、活動内容、活動指標など、それぞれいつ行うか予定を立てます。思っているより短い任期、早め早めに動かねば。
Jan 5th (187 days) Action plan
It passed half a year, we make an action plan at this time, goal, contents, and indicator. I make a plan when I put into action. My terms of office are short than thought. I have to act before it’s too late.
188日目、経験から学ぶ
ガーナでは特殊な運賃システムがあります。同じ区間でも始発から乗る場合（上り）と途中から乗車する場合（下り）でバスの値段が違います。また、お知らせなく突然料金が変わることは日常茶飯事。ビザの申請料金が、先週の値段から2倍に値上がりしました。予期しないことが起こることはいつも覚悟して、代替案を考えておくとストレスを減らせます。
失敗は成功のもと！
Jan 6th (188 days) learn from experience
In Ghana, it has specific fare system. A bus fare from the first station is different of that from on the way even if it is the same section. Then, sudden change of the charge is an everyday occurrence. Over the last week the charge of visa has doubled in price. Stresses are able to reduce when I am ready for unexpected event and prepare an alternative plan. Every failure is a stepping stone to success!
189日目、オランダからの学生再び
今週からまた理学療法士の学生が2名オランダからやってきました。
時間に遅れず、個別訓練やプールでの運動療法を手伝ってくれるありがたい存在です。
Jan 7th (189 days) students from Holland again
Two students of physical therapy have come from this week. They are thankful in my activities, because they are on time and help our individual training and hydrotherapy in a pool.
190日目、足関節の動きに合う装具
日本の装具は、人の足首の動きに合うように作られています。今日作業場で同じような装具を見つけました。聞くと、それは輸入の部品で高価とのこと。何とか手作業で作れるといいのだけど。
Jan 8th (190 days) prosthesis that fit movement of ankle joint
Japanese prosthesis is made and fit movement of ankle joint. I found a prosthesis that looks like Japanese one. I heard from a worker, its parts are imported and expensive. I hope they are able to make by hand made.
191日目、中学生の切断者
成長して義足が合わなくなった中学生が入所しました。体の柔軟性もあり筋力もバランスも整っているので、スポーツでもしているのかと聞くと、片足を杖でサッカーをするアンプティーサッカーをやっていると答えてくれました。
2年間の目標の一つ、アンプティーサッカーのイベントの参加メンバーとして来てくれたらいいな。
Jan 9th (191 days) amputee junior high school student
A junior high school student whose artificial leg was not adapted has admitted because of growth. He has flexible body, enough muscle strength and balance. I asked him whether he usually plays sports, he responded that he play amputee football with one leg and crutches. I wish he will join an event of amputee football that is one of my goals for two years.
192日目、2次障害
新年となり新たな切断者が4人入所しました。4人中3人は切断した足の柔軟性が落ちていました。手術をしてから日々ストレッチをしないと筋肉が短くなって、義足を履いてもきれいに歩くことができません。１人は腰痛があり足への神経症状が出ていました。自己管理方法を伝えていこうと思います。
Jan 10th (192 days) deuteropathy
Four amputees have come from New Year. Three of their flexibility of stump has gone down. Muscles become short if not they stretched muscles every day after amputation, they can’t walk finely. One of them has nerve symptom from lumber to thigh. I’ll tell him how to management of pain.
193日目、わんこ 
玄関先の植木に水をやっていると、女の子と小さな仔犬がしっぽを振りながらやってきました。
名前はラッキー。お向かいの家の子です。また明日も会いたいなー。
Jan 11th (193 days) cute puppy
When I sprinkle water on the plants, a girl and a puppy came to me with wagging his tail.
His name is Lucky. He is the neighbor across the street. I wish we meet again tomorrow.
