From Omiwa Shrine to Mount Miwa Vol.1 | Do you know who the Japanese Deities are?

Do you know who the Japanese Deities are?

Allow me to introduce some of the shrines, and their deities, found in Japan!

3rd February,
I went to Omiwa shrine to celebrate `Setsubun' with my husband and daughter.  We also climbed Mt.Miwa!

We missed the train to JR Miwa from JR Sakurai, so from JR/Kintetsu Sakurai, we caught a taxi to Omiwa shrine. It took 10 minutes and cost a little over 1,000yen.

We got there at 8:15, but already there were people there visiting the shrine.

Sunshine shining through the trees lining the path to the shrine.

Haraedo Shrine. It's here for exorcism and purification, so please go to worship there first.

Meotoiwa. The rocks are like a married couple seeking divine favor for matchmaking and harmonious marriage.

Up the stairs, and we can see Haiden, the main hall of worship.

Chozuya, the place for the ritual cleansing of hands and mouth with water when visiting the shrine.

Haiden

Kitoden ( place for rituals)

Kusurimichi. It's the approach to the Sai Shraine which is enshrined as the god of medicine.

Iwakura Shrine ( Enshrine Sukunabikona no Mikoto who is the god of medicine.)
