Ironmen help rescue 25 tourists caught in rip at Sydney's Maroubra Beach | Today Show Australia (youtube.com)

An heroic mass rescue of 25 tourists cought up in a flash rip(潮流) at Maruba beach in SySydney's East.

One of them surf lifesaver Jackson Bor joins us now, Jackson, thanks for joining us, probably not what you expected to do with the nature Grain series, but incredible.

Sort of did our podium celebrations and were talking and all of sudden look into the ocean and ther was a whole grope of people waving their arms.

So, not what we expected, but I am glad that all of us were there look it.

It is a great warning around this time that rips can happen relatevely.

Is that what happened did you see it kind of unfolding?

I didn't see exactly what put them in the position, but with all the wind change and well changes that have been happening at the moment. So many flash rips are popping up, so they must just got cought in the flash rip and it sent a whole group of tourists out the sea.

Are you seeing a bit more of that, these days I mean this isn't the first rescue you've involved in so far in this year I've heard.

I've been on patrol the last three weekends as well and I've had the just last weekend I had to do four or five while on patrol, I think just a lot of tourists around a lot of people who aren't sure and comfortable in the ocean getting cought in all these flash rips.

Look you see abit of you see a bit of the open beaches I know on th sunny coast sunshine Beach surf life saving club...

They are so good at what they do you can almost see it unfolding before it happens but in reality it can happen pretty quick.

Especially for those people who are visiting from overseas and just have zeo knowleadge.

All the main thing I think is about is knowledge in that knowing when these things are going to pop up and happen and now are just a bit outside inside the flags which then put them in a bit of a dangerous spot, luckly they are close enough that the life guards are able to see and call rescue and then all of us around luckily our training is built for us to go out to short out ocean real quick and assist with the rescue.

I mean flash rips are difficult to detect for a seasoned swim and let alone a touris , so what advice would you have to those hitting water over the summer.

My advice is to swim between the flags. That's where it's both safest.

And to swim in your own cofort level if you are now a very strong swimmer, stay etween waist deep and if it's windy and horrible propably sort of like it is today, then maybe stick to wait deep because these flash rips, they apprea of nowhere wspecially with all the waves coming through.

Just before we go and job well done like all you people as we are calling you are super hot.

There are some people who legitimately (正確に・合法的に)get themselves into trouble just they can be rescued.

I would like to hope not. Most of the time I'm out there people ar out of breath and don't really say anything to me, but I don't think it because I am rescuing them.
