Some students love it, some hate it! Is homework important? The answer is, YES!! With only one or two hours a week of exposure to English, students need to review as much as possible.

I've found that those who did their homework and practiced at home were more confident in class and progressed faster than those who failed to complete their homework. Many times when students aren't able to finish their homework they tend to become shy and embarrassed in class, which in some case causes the students to hate homework. However, those that do their homework have a sense of accomplishment and look forward to doing their assignments.

In my experience I've noticed that the students that have support from their parents tend to do better than those that don't, but sometimes parents do TOO much for their child, which doesn't benefit them in the end.

Next I'll talk about what students and parents can do at home for review. What's ok and what's too much. As I tell my students just do your best and don't be afraid to make a mistake. We all learn from our mistakes, but if you don't try you'll never learn.
