ＮＨＫラジオ講座の「実践ビジネス英語」、2010年度の4月号の復習をしていきたいと思います。

[ヒント]
①「嬉しい」は、a real pleasure
②「頂き」は、「機会を持った」。「～して光栄である」は、be honored to～

[ＭＥＭＯ]
headquartersは「本部、本社、司令部」という意味。名詞で使うときは複数形になる！
動詞で使うと、The research company is headquartered in Tokyo.のように受動態で使う。
[単語、熟語]
①豊富な、（余るほど）十分な（aで始まる）
②何年か、何年も
③（時間、労力、お金をかけて）やりがいのある
④人々の集まり
⑤毎日のように
⑥（人）に（仕事などの）やり方を教える、（人に）コツを教える
⑦candidate（候補者）の同意語（pで始まる）
⑧jobの同意語（rで始まる）

I have worked in theTokyo office for a number of years. 何年か東京のオフィスで勤務した。
③worthwhile
We felt the meeting had been very worthwhile. この会議が非常に価値のあるものだったと感じた。
④a bunch of folks
a group of peopleでもいいけど、かしこまりすぎてるらしい。ふーん。
⑤on a daily basis
eat vegetable on a daily basis 毎日野菜を食べる
have headache on a daily basis 日常的に頭痛がする
⑥show 人 the ropes
theとropesのsを忘れないように注意。learn[know] the ropesは「全体の仕組みを理解する（知っている）」
I'll show you the ropes. コツを教えてあげるよ。
⑦prospect
a person who has a good chance of success（成功の絶好の機会を持つ人物）の意味がprospectにはある。
つまり、選ばれし者みたいなイメージかな。
⑧responsibility
仕事は責任が伴うものだから、同じようなイメージなのかも。
