◎香港に「小人打」という儀式があります。自分にとって災いをもたらしそうな人の名前を紙に書き、それを呪い師のおばちゃんがバンバン叩き、ボロボロになったらそれを火で燃やして不幸を追い払います。料金は50香港ドル。毎年啓蟄の日に行われる儀式で、その小さな屋台の前には長い行列ができるとか。白昼堂々と公衆の目の前で行うとは香港のお国柄が感じられますね。

◎経済産業省の西村大臣が、ChatGPTを国会答弁で活用する可能性を検討していると発言しました。国家公務員の業務負担の軽減を視野に入れてのことですが、著作権保護や情報漏洩のリスクもあるとして、実際に業務で活用されるかは疑問が残ります。イタリアでは個人情報漏洩の懸念からChatGPTの使用を一時禁止する措置が取られているほど慎重です。個人での使用を超えて国家レベルで使うというのは、時期尚早なのではないでしょうか。

◎冬の間、見守ってきたプラスチックケースの中のアゲハ蝶のサナギが羽化しました。早速鉢植えのレモンの木にとまらせたのですが、花の蜜を吸う力もないほどに弱々しく、残念ながら死んでしまいました。生き物を育てるのは難しいと実感した次第です。
もうひとつの話題は85歳になる義理の姉のこと。病気を乗り越えた後はトレーニングで筋力を戻し、今は８人の仲間とのウォーキングを楽しんでいます。四字熟語のクイズを解き、人に感謝こそすれ苦情は言わず、素晴らしい老後の生き方のお手本です。
