かぐや姫は、おじいさんたちのそばをはなれたくない、と泣きだしてしまいます。
おじいさんは、みかどの申し出をことわりました。
あきらめきれないみかどはかぐや姫に会いにいき、
そのうつくしさを見てよけいに心をうばわれ、てがみをだしつづけるようになりました。
かぐや姫はていねいに返事をだしますが、こうつたえます。
「わたしは、じつは、この国のものではないのです。なので、結婚することができません……」
そのころから、かぐや姫は月をみあげては涙ぐむようになります。
おじいさんとおばあさんがわけをきいても答えません。
やがて、八月の十五夜（じゅうごや）がちかくなり、
やっとくちをひらきました。
「わたしは、月の国のものです。つぎの十五夜に、月からむかえがくることになりました」
かぐや姫はさめざめと泣いています。
「でも、わたしは、おじいさんおばあさんにお別れをするのが、かなしくて……」
おじいさんとおばあさんも、なげきかなしみました。
かぐや姫はていねいに返事をだしますが、こうつたえます。

Part 11
Princess Kaguya begins to cry because she doesn't want to be near her grandfathers.

Princess Kaguya responds politely, but she responds.

From that time on, Princess Kaguya began to weep when she looked up at the moon.

Eventually, the 15th night of August became close,
I finally opened my mouth.
"I belong to the land of the moon. The next fifteen nights will come from the moon."
Princess Kaguya is crying awake.
"But I don't think it's good to say goodbye to grandfather and grandmother ..."
My grandfather and grandmother also had a good time.
