6月、7月は祇園祭の前、そしてまっただ中に、お仕事で何度も京都へ通いました。
京都オフィスは四条烏丸と、祇園祭の舞台の１つにあるので
祭前後の街のエネルギーの変化を、リアルに体感することができたのです。
それがとても興味深かったので、今日はそのお話です。
In July I visited Kyoto often.
"Gion matsuri", a traditional festival in Kyoto is being held from July 1st to 31st,
so I enjoyed it and felt the shift of the energy by the festival directly.
もともと、祇園祭は869年に疫病の流行を防ぐ目的で
疫神を鎮めるために行われたのが始まりだそうで、
鉾に悪い神をとりつかせた上で、燃やしたり壊して浄化していたそうです。
これをエネルギー的に見れば、
京都の中心部の浄化大作戦といえるでしょう。
そしてたしかに、17日の山鉾巡業＆神幸祭の数日後、
四条通を烏丸から河原町へと歩いてみたら、
街のエネルギーがすがすがしく浄化されていました。
They began to hold the festival in 869 to stop an epidemic.
Ancient people thought that the disease was caused by the gods of pestilence,
so they made the original cars, called "Yama hoko" , and paraded to gather
the gods by the halberd on the rooftop of the cars.
After the festival they purified the cars by fire or destruction.
I think, it's a purifying of the central area of Kyoto,
and when I walked from Karasuma to Kawaramachi
after the parade, I felt that it worked very well.
The energy of the area was so clean,
今回、非常に興味深かったのは「音」です。
祇園祭の直前、街を歩くと「二階囃子」があちらこちらから聞こえていました。
囃子方が鉾町の町屋の二階で練習するから「二階囃子」と言うそうなのですが、
あの「コンチキチン♪」はただのお囃子ではありません。
私には、独特の波長に吸い寄せられていく「疫神」の姿が見えました。
音にも、「音霊」がありますから。
I was especially intrested in the original sounds of the "Gion festival".
They use the Japanese flutes, bells, and drums.
When I heard the sound, I saw the scene that the god of the pestilence was
gathered by the power of the sound and picked up by the halberd.
京都という街がこんなに長い間、たくさんの人びとを引き付けるパワーを
保ち続けている要因の１つに、年に一度のパワフルなエネルギー浄化（祇園祭）が
あるのでしょう。
１つ１つの山鉾にはそれぞれ由来があり、説明を読んでいるだけでも興味深いです。
たとえば「船鉾」（ふねほこ）は、鉾の上に神功皇后と三神像を祀っています。
神功皇后は、身ごもった身体で戦いに行き無事安産なさったという神様。これにちなんで
安産のお守りを授与してくださるそうです。
I think that this powerful spell for cleaning up is one of the reasons
which helps the beautiful city to gather many people from all over the world.
Each car (Yama Hoko) has a different origin so it was really intresting for me to read about them.
For example, "Fune Hoko", fune means the ship, is dedicated to
Jingu queen and three statues of other gods.
When she went to the battle field, she was pregnant, but she worked bravely
and after the war she had a baby. So she is well known as the goddess of the easy delivery.
祇園祭は7月31日、八坂神社の境内にある「疫神社」で行われる夏越祭まで続きます。
期間中、エネルギー浄化はまたさらに進むのでしょう。
次に京都を訪れるのがとても楽しみです！
They will finish the festival on July 31st.
On that day "Nagoshi festival" will be held at Eki Shrine.
I'm looking forward to feeling the shift of the energy after the festival.
