京都の伏見稲荷大社は、
商売繁盛・五穀豊穣・家内安全などの神様として有名です。
Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto is well known
as a god who is responsible for prosperity in the buisiness,
abundant harvests, and the safety of the family.
711年2月初午の日に、稲荷大神が
稲荷山に降臨したのが、この神社の始まり。
On the First Horse Day of Febrary in 711,
the Inari ookami(god) descended to Inarimountain,
and people made a shrine dedicated to the god.
「稲荷」という名前は
「稲が生った」に由来しているという
説があるのだそうです。
There is a belief that the origin of "Inari" is
"Ine(The rice-plant) Natta(fille)".
神社の神紋（しんもん）にも、「稲穂」が描かれています。
The crest for the shrine is the rice-plants.
稲荷大神のお使い、「キツネ」。
Messengers of the god are foxes.
わたしが訪れた日はちょうど「初午祭」の日でしたので、
青果市場からの奉納品や
I visited there on The First Horse Day of Feb,
They were holding the Festival for the memorial day.
I saw the votive offering from
the vesitable and fruit market,
清酒メーカーからの奉納品が
所せましと奉られていました。
and from a rice wine maker.
早朝から御祈祷が行われており、
本殿の中は人でいっぱいでした。
The main shrine building was so crowded with
people who wanted to offer up their prayers.

It takes 1 minute on foot from "Fushimi"station of JR
or 3 or 4 minuteson foot from "Fushimi Inari"station of
Keihan honsen.
