晴耕雨読／今日の英語表現53

今日は私の住んでいる関東地方某所もほぼ1日中雨。

こんな日は、仕事等があれば別として、外出するにしても最小限にとどめ、自宅でできることを進めていった方が良い。言わば晴耕雨読。

この晴耕雨読、working in the field in fine weather and reading at home in rainy weather や、working in the fields on fine days and reading books on wet days といった言い方がある。ただ、いずれも直訳調。

ここは意訳してみる。following the rules of nature （自然の法則に従う）。この方が単純明快。
