I introduce true Tonkotsu ramen in Hells kitchen in NYC.

When I used to live in Japan I went to Akaroren

(Same group of Mentoku) many times.

So I knew this shop is my favorite.

mentoku

This Tonkotsu ramen is kind of plain and right soup with thin noodle.

This is typical real Tonkotsu ramen in Janan.

mentoku

This time I order Hakata genryu ramen.

This is the one I used to eat in Japan.

Because soup is not too heavy I enjoy all the soup too.

If you like right and plain real Japanese tonkotsu ramen here is the one.

Mentoku

744 9th Ave.

b/t 51st & 5ost.

Price  ★★★★★ reasonable price in NYC

Service ★★★★☆ Good service

Taste ★★★★★ real Japanese tonkotsu ramen

Do I want to go again? Yes specially after drink I want to eat this ramen!

Please make midtown east shop for me!

Are you Enjoying cold weather in NY?

It's bit too cold for jogging outside so I'm a little bit frustrating for that.

I talked with my friends about which ramen is the best in NYC.

My friend said "E.A.K ramen".

So I went last week for my first visit to check my friend's tang is right.

E.A.K = iekei(Japanese) means Yokohama style noodle.

Yokohama is located in close to Tokyo.

Which is a fusion of southern style noodle soup(tonkotsu pork bro soup) and Tokyo style noodle soup(soy sauce)

E.A.K outside

I order E.A.K ramen(extra noodle) + fried rice.

Yes, I'm big eater!

E.A.K tonkostu ramen

Fried rice: Not large potion so you can enjoy ramen & fried rice by one person.
E.A.K fried rice

This is just in my opinion but noodle is a bit too thick for me, feels like udon but I love the deep and rich soup and half boiled egg.

E.A.K ramen.

469 Avenue of The Americas

B/t 11th & 12th st

West Village

Price     ★★★☆☆ bit overpriced for ramen.

Service ★★★★☆ waiter is nice & no long waiting.

Taste    ★★★☆☆ I like soup but noodle was a bit too thin for me.

Do I want to go again? Well, I don't know but there is many like this recently.

I introduce Kame ramen.

Kame means Turtle in Japanese.

Also, because turtle lives long/many years,

there is hidden meaning in it too.

So they might name kame because this shop wants

to live/survive like kame lives.

亀=turtle in Japenese and I think also Chinese too.

I went there around 3 pm so there was no

waiting and easy to find the seat.

I ordered Tonkostu ramen and also Gyoza(dumpling)

2017y12m23d_185514187.jpg

This gyoza was really good.

Very thin but was juicy and crunchy

though I'm sure there is a lot of garlic in it

might be better to skip

if you will have a face to face work after you eat this.

I ordered regular Tonkotsu ramen.

This ramen soup is one of the mildest/smooth ones in NY.

I really love this soup.

You will taste full-bodied and same time kind of sweetness

from the oil of pork and pig's bone.

Not too salty and feels many layers of the taste

so I enjoyed whole soup!

The noodle itself is wavy and normal thickness.

For me, cha-syu(roasted pork fillet) was bit too oily/fat but

the pork was soft and juicy too.

This ramen is high-quality and well-balanced.

Price ★★★☆☆ Bit over price for ramen.

Service ★★★★☆ Good!

Taste★★★★☆ I love soup!

Do I want to go again? I think so but there are many ramen shops like here recently.
