今や就活をするときには必須と言ってもいいでしょう
TOIECスコア
俺自身715点が最高点で、あまり偉そうなことを言える立場に無いのですが
非常にいい記事を見つけたので、これまで読んだTOIEC関連本の内容とともに
自分自身の考えについて書いておこうと思います
まず、大原則なのはTOIECはあくまで英語力の目安であってそれが全てではないということ
実際様々なスコアを持つ方と交流すると分かりますが、同じようなスコアでも総合的な英語力に差があるかもと感じることは多々あります
就活の人事の方々も誤解してる方が多いですが、ハイスコア＝企業に求める人材
とは限らないのが実情です
おそらく人事の方も英語学習を真剣にやってる方々ではないのでしょう
実際に就活の場面ではTOIEC至上主義ともとれる発言をされている人事の方はいました
スコア＝英語のコミュニケーション能力では無いのがミソです
また、大学院時代にドクターの方々と話しましたが
ドクターの方々は勿論英語で論文を読み、論文を書き、国際学会で発表してますが
TOIECのスコアはそれほど高くないというのが実情です
700点取れてれば高い方です
このことから分かるのは、英語にも専門性があるということで
TOIECのスコアと仕事で使う英語が必ずしも関連しているとは限らないことです
一応の学習の目安としてTOIECを活用するのがいいことだと思いますが
TOIECが全てと考えるのは賢明ではありません
