Remember the Audi Grandsphere concept from 2021. Well this is the next-generation A8 coming in 2024 and Audi says it will look “very close” to this GrandSphere concept…Wow. The new A8 will be fully electric and will compete with the i7, EQS, Model S, Lucid Air and others. It will not be offered in a gas variant. Audi design boss March Lichte said the final design “isn't identical” but essentially the same.
The A8 e-Tron will ride on the upcoming PPE（premium platform electric）developed by Audi - Porsche. The concept has a 120kWh battery pack with over 466miles of range and 270kWh charging. The concept also had Quattro electric AWD and a whopping 710HP and 708 lb-ft of torque.
Audi is calling this the “private jet for the road” . It will feature advanced new autonomous and augmented reality technologies along with eco friendly interior materials. Judging that we haven't seen a single prototype out on the roads, and that the Macan EV, also on the PPE, has been delayed, this A8 e-Tron likely won't go on sale until Fall 2024-early 2025 if anything.
After 2026, Audi will only unveil EVs. They will stop selling combustion car’s by 2033.
