マーチングバンドシーズンも佳境を迎えています。1番忙しいのが10月後半から11月前半にかけて。
テキサスはマーチングにかける情熱が半端なく全米３０位内の3/4くらいがテキサスの学校。息子の学校も毎年ベスト30内には入っています。
ただ練習量とコンペティションの拘束時間がえげつない

7:30a Call Time
Arrive with show hair done and in compressions, marching shoes and black socks.Guard arrive in body tights with hair done.
7:45 Rehearse in compression gear.
8:45 Rehearsal Ends. Load Truck.
9:30 Depart for ⚫︎⚫︎⚫︎ Stadium.
Eat lunch and Snacks on the bus.
12:00 Arrive at ⚫︎⚫︎⚫︎ Stadium. Unload Truck.
• Get into uniforms.
• Section Time at Trucks/Director Check-In.
• Front Ensemble Warm-Up Begins.
• Line up in 2s at Truck
• Winds/Battery/Guard MOVE to Warm Up.
• Winds/Battery/Guard Warm Up Begins.
• Front Ensemble moves to the Stadium.
• Props Arrive at the Stadium.
• Band moves to the Gate.
• Perform!!!
• Load Trucks and Change into shirts.
• Students will be fed snacks.
• Director’s Meeting & Score Verification in the Visitors Side Field House. Finalist directors will draw for performance order.
• Announcement of Results (Drum Majors Only Retreat). The schedule for the remainder of the evening, and the time the eat dinner will be determined by whether we make finals and what that finals draw is.

9:15 Last Finalist Band Finishes
9:45 Drum Major Retreat/State Qualifiers Announced
10:15 Load Buses and Trucks Students receive snacks for the ride home.
10:30 Depart for ⚫︎⚫︎⚫︎ HS
12:00a Arrive at ⚫︎⚫︎⚫︎HS. Unload.
朝7:30集合、夜中12時解散って一体…
去年フレッシュマン(高校1年)で初洗礼を受けたわけですが、初めてスケジュールを見た時三度見しました。ちなみに予選で敗退すればもっと早く帰ってくるはずですが、例年必ずファイナルは行くのでスケジュールに折り込み済み。
今年は「あー、12時に帰ってくるんだ、3時じゃなくて良かった」と思ってる自分がいます。慣れって怖い！
