When we set out to build the CI Mid with the crew at @ciSurfboards (shapers @mike_andrews3 @mike_walter #BrittMerrick) we soon learned that our new board had more range than expected. It could boogie in the smaller, mushy stuff (see previous post from a week ago, too) where a wide tail log or fish would have usually been a way better call for me personally. This day, the sets were waist to chest and a tad crumbly—and backwashy—but the 6’10” CI Mid added a little unexpected zing that got me to rethink at what point I will jump off the longboard to this board.
