In reading the article "The Boring Age" by Michael Lind, I was instantly reminded of John Naisbitt's "Mind Set!". In this book published in 2006, Naisbitt pointed out, as one of his eleven Mindsets, that Things that we expect to happen always happen more slowly, which I thought really hit the point. Then as I read on, and found in the Books section Naisbitt's (the Naisbitts's) new book, China's Megatrends, was completely denied by Mark L. Clifford. What a coincidence!
Still, I believe Naisbitt's Mind Set! is a very insightful reading, and we can use these Mindsets, such as While many things change, most things remain constant, to understand and even predict the future of China. China will not change as rapidly as some expect. At the same time, nothing is so new and it is too brave to say that China is "a new form of governance and development, never before seen in modern history.".
