"The Notebook" Nicholas Sparks

「"The Notebook" （邦題　きみに読む物語）」という映画の一節だ。
主人公のNoah が８０歳を過ぎて自分の人生を思い出しながら語る。

"私はごく平凡な人間だ。
ごく普通の考え方をし、ごく普通の人生を歩み、名を残すこともなく、

自分の名前はすぐに忘れられるだろう。

でも一つだけ、誰にも負けなかったことがある。

命がけである人を愛した。　私には、それで十分だ"

この映画の中には、沢山の心に残る台詞やシーンがあるけれど
心の中に一番深く残っているのはこの台詞だ。

大きなことを成し遂げて名を残すことも、人の上に立つことも必要ない。
大切な人達を愛し、感謝しながら生きて、いつか私も

"I've loved another with all my heart and soul,
and to me, this has always been enough."

といえるといいと思う。　そういう人生を送りたい。
