New York Salsa Congressの元主催者であるMr.DAVID MELENDEZが、今日(NY TIMEで木曜日)に癌のためお亡くなりになったそうです。
約3年前NYで、初めて彼をDAVIDと認識した時から、その素敵な笑顔や人柄とはウラハラな、みのもんたのような(失礼？)顔色の悪さが気になってはいたんだけど…あまりにも早い旅立ちです。哀しい…。
数々のサルサ・コングレスを主催したり、スラムの子どもたちを集めてパフォーマンスチームを作ったらそれが一躍有名になっちゃってメンバーには「お父さん」と親しまれていたり…
とても偉大な人であると同時に、とても親しみやすく、ステキで心地良い踊り方をしてくださるリーダー、な方でした。
