I havent seen a single poster or advert or anything here in the UK, and it comes out at the same time here. Even the trailers that dropped came out to no fanfare at all, I think most people didnt even know this existed level 2 I saw the trailer in theaters (in the US) quite a few times, but no tv spots, youtube ads, or the like. The trailer also didn't really make it look like something I had to see. level 2 On the one hand, I encountered some promotion of it- on the other hand, it was decidedly unpromising promotion, as it came across as a string of cliches of the genre without a clear sense of anything special about this particular film. level 2 I'm from the US and I had absolutely no idea this existed until right now level 2 Shame for the Bond producers trying to get something new off the ground only to get this result Albert Broccoli tried the same thing with an adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which is made all the more disappointing his children couldn't get something else off the ground either with TRS level 1 2 F cinemascores in the space of a month and now this record being broken. 2020 is off to a great start level 2 Art imitates life, and all that. level 2 It's too bad Cats didn't come out in January, this would've been the most amazing month ever level 1 Its up to Sonic to save Paramounts ass. level 2 Banking on a video game movie is usually a bad move level 2 And, given how things have gone lately for Paramount, the more and more they need a high gross from Sonic, the less and less likely it may very well become. level 1 Ouch! This totally a 💣. Is good concept film but bad execution and really poor editing just a disaster. Also Blake Lively is not a action actress. level 2 To be fair… A lot of times we dont realize that someones an action movie star until they are. Bruce Willis was definitely a weird choice for die hard when it first came out. Jason Bourne being played by Will Hunting was surprising, and the guy from Mr. Mom becoming Batman was also seen as horrible casting. level 1 I still have no idea what this movie even is. There's been zero marketing, and the name sucks at explaning anything. Is it a marching band movie, a rap movie, I have no fucking clue. level 1 I'm looking at the director's previous record and I can only ask: why did you ever thought this was a good idea? Also the comparisons to BETTER female-led action movies in the reception section of the Wikipedia sound like they were made by a critic with an inverted taste compared with most people.
