This week my parents arrived and they are currently staying with me in my tiny apartment. They will be staying for just over two weeks, however tomorrow we are going to Hokkaido together for about 5 days.
I went to Sapporo last summer so I have a little experience there, but that time I was with my significant other who could help in any difficult Japanese situations. This time, with my parents, I will have to deal with all the translation situations by myself. They always tell me that they are impressed with my language skills, but firstly they are my parents so they have to say that. Secondly, they don't know what I'm saying, so anything is impressive.
They arrived on Thursday, so far (it's Saturday) I actually haven't seen them so much. Between work and the Japanese school I'm going to before work, I've only seen them for a little in the evenings.
From England, my parents have brought me brown bread, crumpets, shortbread biscuits and some marmite. All the British essentials that are much rarer here in Japan.
I'm excited about this trip with them, I will write a part three when we return, I should have many stories by then.
