This week, Thursday to be exact, my parents are coming to visit me here in Japan for the fourth time. They are big fans of Japan.
They always stay with me in my small apartment, it can be a bit cramped but it does mean that I can see them a lot while they are here. My Dad's snoring can be tiresome however.
Whenever they come, we always visit somewhere new together. Last summer I visited Hokkaido and I had a great time there, so after telling my parents about it they decided that's where they want to go this time. We have planned a trip in the cities of Sapporo and Hakodate, and of course all of the beautiful countryside between.
I often feel a kind of pressure before they visit me. Of course, they are my parents and I want to make them proud. But also, I feel that I have to try and show them a snapshot of my life here, to show them that I am dong well in order to stop them from worrying when they go back to England. I know that they like Japan so they understand my decision to live here, but I always feel I have to show them something special.
