未知の自分

未知の自分を発見することは、ワクワクしますね。

人は生まれてから死ぬまでの間に、

「未知の自分を発見する」という体験を、何度もするそうです。

私は数年間、精神的な病気を患っていました。

新聞、雑誌、インターネットなど文章を読むこと、
書くことができないで苦しい時期がありました。

こんな時、自分の事を嘆くばかりでしたが、

考え方を変えて、病気になったことをプラスにとらえ、

今、病気なって良かった、自分が磨かれていくんだな、

成長するのに必要なんだと前向きに考えるようになりました。

考え方を変える、意識して行動するには大変な苦労がありました。

ドラム缶一杯の涙を流したかも知れません。

でも、

自分にはこんな才能があったのか、

こんな長所があったのか、

とか、

こんな一面があったのか、

など、普段気がついていない自分の長所、良さを発見することが
できるようになりました。

何かの経験を通して、自分を発見できたのだと思います。

みにくいアヒルの子は、

ある日、水面に映る自分の姿を見て、
自分が美しい白鳥であることを発見します。

これも、未知の自分を発見した瞬間ですね。

私たちの中にも、まだ私たちが気づいていない才能や魅力や強みが
たくさん内在していて、私たちに発見されるのを待っているのです。

では、
私たちは、どんな時に「未知の自分」を発見するのでしょうか？

まず考えられるのが、

・新しいことにチャレンジしたとき　

結構、勇気がいりますね。
一日5分でもいいから取り組もう！と本田健さんも仰っていました。

新しいことを始める以外にも、未知の自分を発見する方法はあるかと思います。

例えば、次の2つはいかがでしょう。

・目の前のことにベストを尽くしたとき

　「勉強、仕事を通じて自分を高めよう」

　「やりたくないことでも、良い面を考えてみよう」

・大好きなことを追求し続けたとき

　「もっと自分のための時間を持とう」

　「どうせやるなら、徹底的にやろう」

今、あなたにとって、目の前のこと、自分に必要なことは何ですか？

そして、あなたの大好きなことは何ですか？

無駄なことなんて一つもない、

全てに意味があることなんだと一緒に考えていけたら嬉しいです。

結果目標 と 行動目標

前回の目標設定の重要性をうけて、今回は目標の質について考えていきたいと思います。

では、英語学習（TOEIC）をベースに考えてみましょう。

ここで質問です

あなたの英語学習の目標はなんですか？

こう聞かれた時に答えとして返ってくるのは、

　「ネイティブと友達なる」

　「英会話を流暢にしたい」

という目標や

　「TOEICで900点を取得します」

　「今年中に英検1級に合格します」

など、具体的な目標が入った回答が返ってきます。

目標は明確にした方が叶うと言われていますから、
点数など具体的に入っているのは良いとも思います。

ところが、目標には2種類ありまして、

それは、「結果目標」　と　「行動目標」　です。

聞いたことがあるという人もいるかも知れません。

例えば、

　「TOEICで900点を取得します！」というのは「結果目標」です。

さらに

　毎日、英単語を10個覚えるとか、

　リスニングを30分行う！

　このブログを毎日読む！

というのが「行動目標」になります。

つまり、その目標を達成させるためのガイドラインになりうる

目標達成のために「こういう行動、計画を実施しましょう」というのが、行動目標です。

できる人は、この二つの使い分けが自然とできていたりしますね。

以前、営業成績の良い人に尋ねたことがありまして、

本人に聞いても、

「そんなことは知らないけど、そういえば両方の目標を考えていた」

という感じです。

今までこの考え方が曖昧だった！そっかー、なるほど！と言う方は

、
早速、「結果目標」、そしてガイドとなる「行動目標」を考えましょう。

行動目標の具体例

たとえば、こんな感じです。

『2011年の私の目標TOEICスコアは900点です』

　　　　↓

『大体、公式問題集を2冊仕上げる、厚めの参考書を1冊、洋書を1冊読む』

　　　　↓

『公式問題集を仕上げるには2ヶ月必要になる、一日おきに30分は必ず取り組む』

『リスニングは通勤、通学時に15分聴く、洋書は週末にじっくり読んでみる』　

『文法、構文等の参考書を一日おきに30分は必ず取り組む』

　　　↓

『リスニングのシャドーイングを1,000題やる、参考書の問題500題を全て覚える』

『洋書の中の単語、フレーズを100個書き出し、覚える。使ってみる』

　　　　↓

『ここまでやるには100日～かかりそうだな、10日毎に計画の見直しをしよう』

　　　　↓

『よし、では一日平均10題のリスニングと、10題のリーディング問題に取り組もう』

かなりザックリしたフローですが、

ここまで落とし込んではじめて、行動目標となります。

目標は具体的な行動目標にまでブレイクダウンできないかを考えてみましょう。

こういった思考プロセスを踏むことで、行動目標が見えてきます。

ここでポイントです、

結果目標は人、社会情勢によって結果が左右されますが、
行動目標は本人の熱い意志があれば左右されません。

さらに勉強するだけではもったいないので、

学習する時間の管理能力を磨き、仕事やプライベートで活かす！

とか

翻訳、通訳のレベルまで英語力を高める！

とか

海外旅行を辞書無しで挑戦する！

日本への渡航者を英語でエスコートする！

英語学習で身につけたスキルを中国語取得に活かす！

など

スキルを高めた結果、得られるものを明示してみるのも、目標達成には必要です。

成果を出すのと同じくらいの重点付けで目標を立ててみてください。

イチロー選手は、プロチームで活躍することを結果目指として、そのための行動目標を

小学生の頃から実践していました。そして一流のプロ選手になり、海外で大活躍してますね。

「僕の夢」　小学校6年生　鈴木一朗

僕の夢は一流のプロ野球選手になることです。

そのためには中学、高校と全国大会に出て活躍しなければなりません。

活躍できるようになるためには練習が必要です。 僕は三才の時から練習を
始めています。 三才から七才では半年くらいやっていましたが、三年生の
時から今までは三百六十五日中三百六十日は激しい練習をやっています。

だから、一週間中で友達と遊べる時間は五、六時間です。 そんなに練習を
やっているのだから、必ずプロ野球選手になると思います。 そして、その
球団は中日ドラゴンズか、西武ライオンズです。 ドラフト一位で契約金は
一億円以上が目標です。 僕が自信のあるのは投手か打撃です。

去年の夏、僕たちは全国大会に行きました。 そして、ほとんどの投手を見
てきましたが自分が大会ナンバーワン選手と確信でき、打撃では県大会四
試合のうちホームラン三本を打てました。 そして、全体を通した打率は五
割八分三厘でした。 このように自分でも納得のいく成績でした。 そして、
僕たちは一年間負け知らずで野球ができました。 だから、この調子でこれ
からもがんばります。 そして、僕が一流の選手になって試合に出られるよ
うになったら、お世話になった人に招待券を配って応援してもらうのも夢
の一つです。 とにかく一番大きな夢は野球選手になることです。
