yes but will people buy more, as the whole value chain is effected by low prices and therefore sales and employees will also be efeteced, but then again, no one can really predict the effect

@shanulk2 deflation from technological innovations is good. Deflation because of lower economic trust between everyone in society is a bad thing.

Japan relies heavily on imported energy. You mentioned only one side of the coin for yen devaluation - energy and raw material inflation will eat into the pockets of corporates and consumers.

Yes, you're right. The trick is to get the right kind of inflation. But exports have been held back for so long due to the high yen, that a surge in export earnings could trigger more investment and hiring...and hence GDP growth. That's the hope.
You can only hope the increase in debt produces more than a temporary sugar rush in the economy. We might well be seeing just more good money thrown away
