TPR and Language Acquisition
Jay Jinn
Associating the new language words and sounds with pictures is the next best thing, after TPR. Pictures and sounds are more fundamental
than language in our brains. If no pictures and sounds, the next best thing is to associate the word from the language you do know (like English for example), with the new foreign word in it's romanized or transliterated form.
After you know a base of 3,000 words, you then can focus on reading in the alphabet of the new language and grammar.

It is a great method. It doesn't need the oral participation of the students and all of them can understand what is happening. Although,
I think they need to complete the learning process with some reading material.

Here people are learning by doing, and I think that is a great way to learn because it makes you feel connected to what you are learning
and it seems useful too. Thats way it is not boring.
