クリスマスシーズンに街を飾るイルミネーション。写真は今年のロンドンはリージェントストリート、ホテルリッツ、サイエンスミュージアム前広場のものである。
東京に帰る度に街がＬＥＤの冷たい光に埋め尽くされていくことに驚愕していたが、その波はついにロンドンにもやってきた。私見だが、東京にはＬＥＤが似合ってもロンドンには似合わない。色は東京のどぎつさに比べれば抑え目にしているが、田舎っぽいロンドンにはやはり白熱電球の暖かいぼんやりした光が似合う、と私は思う。光はやっぱり暖かくなくっちゃ。という理由で家で使う電球も全て白熱電球にしている。蛍光灯は長持ちするけど、冷たい青白い光が嫌い。
しかしながら、地球温暖化阻止のために白熱電球製造中止の方向にあるという記事を見つけて愕然。。そんなバカな！地球温暖化を出されてきたらグウの音も出ないではないか！ＬＥＤ＞蛍光灯＞白熱電球 これは効率の良い順＋光が冷たい順。暖かいものは効率が悪いのである。効率が悪いという理由で暖かいものが排除されていっていいのか？光は大事なのである。そのうちＬＥＤで世界中の街が埋め尽くされるときには、人の心もＬＥＤの氷の光のように冷たくなってしまうに違いない。

Every time I go back to Tokyo, I was amazed LED light seemed to getting popular and we see everywhere it’s strong and cold lights. Recent years the trend has finally arrived in London, in spite of the fact that it doesn’t match to the atmosphere of this town. Even though the colours are less strong than the one in Tokyo, I prefer having warm and ambiguous lights of incandescent bulbs here in London. I don’t use fluorescent lamp at home, it is efficient but colder than bulb light, I like warm light.
Nevertheless, because of the fact of global warming it is announced that the bulb lights will be no more produced – I was so shocked to hear the news! LED> Fluorescent Lamp>Bulb Light; this is in order of efficiency and coldness in light. Warmness means inefficiency. I wonder if it is quite right the efficiency conquer the warmness because of its in-efficiency? The light is important. One day LED light conquer the world, human’s heart must be colder like LED light.
