PRO-Keds has been in the sneaker game for decades, gaining prominence in NYC as the hip-hop/b-boy head’s sneaker brand of choice. Things have changed over the years for the brand and the surrounding sneaker game, but amidst the hype and an outpour of today’s new releases, a tried and true classic like the 69er Lo will always be relevant. The recent ‘Backyard BBQ‘ powered by the three-way collaboration between PRO-Keds, notable sneaker fiend Biz Markie and longstanding retailer Packer Shoes, was a celebration of the good old days, bringing back some old-school flavor to a mostly new-school crowd. If you haven’t picked up one of the 750 limited-edition pairs, head to Packer Shoes to cop yours, and check out the video recap after the jump to see what went down at the BBQ.

2012′s release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 is certainly one of the best sneaker releases of the year, but does sniff it anywhere close to being the greatest of all-time? That debate can be argued without end, but one thing that kept Nike Free Run 3.0 V5 Mens the Yeezy 2 floating atop the hottest sneaker stories was when Gentry Humphrey noted a potential third colorway release of the Air Yeezy 2 could be in the works. While nothing’s been confirmed, we’re getting a look at a never-before-seen White/Black/Cement Print sample of the Air Yeezy 2, which combines a white forefoot with a black anaconda skin and dino-heel back-end, and light-grey midsole with speckle cement print. The combo is apparently an old one cooked up during the development stage of the sneaker, so don’t expect them to hit shelves any time soon (although it looks like another colorway may still be on the way). Your thoughts on this sample? Let’s get the comments rolling in.
