Sneaker Con NYC December 2011
Sneaker Con returned to NYC this past weekend, opening up to one of the biggest crowds in Sneaker Con history. With an endless line-up wrapping around the entire block for most of the day, sneakerheads from the tri-state area showed up to buy, sell, and trade their http://rongbingsx1.blogdetik.com/ kicks in time for the Holiday season. Again, adidas Originals represented with a sick look-see preview of its upcoming Originals and Jeremy Scott models, and hundreds of vendors and patrons filled up the venue with some of the latest sneakers to have hit the market. It was sneaker hysteria for the entire event, and as the day wore on, sellers made some http://rongbingsx1.seesaa.net/ attractive deals to unload some of their stock, like offering free snap-backs or discounted t-shirts with sneaker purchases. Sneaker Con once again proved to be the best sneaker event of its kind, but for those who are SCNYC veterans, say good-bye to the venue because the next time Sneaker Con hits the Big Apple, it be at a larger venue. Check out a quick recap from the event below and don forget that Sneaker Con will hit Los Angeles next week on December 17th!
Im a 90s baby and I understand the shoe game and how it getting fucked up. People buy shoes without knowing the history or even knowing if they even like the shoe and try to sell it the same day for 200% more. I purchase shoes because I like them or they bring memories for me but recently I had to miss alot of shoe releases bc all of these "sneakerheads" make it more difficult for me to get them so I dont even try. I knew the world is over when someone told my friend is Columbia 11s were fake "space jams" smh RIP to the shoe game, Im going back to collecting baseball cards
no refunds!!!!!!! again broke people. i had this broke little kid looking like a roach asking for his moeny back we kept telling him no he kept begging for a half hr on my tables i took my shoes back and gave his money back and told him to get his broke assss outta here. horrible
5)sneakercon - this was the worst sneakercon as a vendor i had where i didnt sell nothing i didnt make steak and lobster money i made fish and cheese money. ive been to every nyc and the first dc sneakercon and i made steak and lobster money. well see what happends if i choose to go to the atlanta show in feb or march of 2012. horrible
out of a scale from 1-5 i gave sneakercon december 2011 a 1. horrible!!!
and again my damm table or any of my crew was in these photos where are my photos that where taken the day of the show???????????
as a vendor ive bought 2 tables well over 100 shoes ds or nds. i was the first vendor as soon as you come in the entrance.
1)over crowded - could not walk or move for minutes. it got to a point a couple of times the crowd did not move. horrible.
2)people attended the show- bringing duffle bags, suit cases, large tote bags with all there shoes shouldnt be allowed. the minimum should be 2 or the most 3 pairs. and blocking vendors tables must stop. your taking away the point of vendors selling there products. horrible
3)money issues- please dont come to a show and not have money. it is the worst thing to do is come broke. i was selling all my shoes for decent prices or below cost and people still thought it was to much. for example: "im selling a pair of shoes for a 100 and someone said i got 88 dollars i need the rest of my money to go home" broke people i tell you. horrible
A lot of people here complain about "kids these days", "the shoe game is not the same" and shit.
Of course it's not, Nike and others opened more and more stores throughout the years. You have the sneaker blogs like this one that make them popular. And last but not least, there is yall who comment on every release, starting hype on each new shoe.
Don't blame the kids for having access to all these things. Long time since I was a kid, but I'm happy that it's easier for them to cop a pair than it was for us back in the day.
say your going out on a night on the town and you like rocking polo or american eagle.
you love to have a new polo sweater to go out in.
so you go to the polo store and cop you a fresh polo sweater. easy
wouldnt be nice to go to the "Jordan Store" and cop you some jordan 11 concords, year round, at retail price. there should be no reason why this niggs aint got his own chain of Jordan brand stores worldwide and we can all be freah wothout kicking out 500 on some shit you had when you was 15 and paid 125 for. i really hate that these kids are wearing them and didnt even know jordan wore 45 lol
the sneaker game is messed up, why you ask? the dudes their with shoes 1. are charging 150-200 and up on recent kicks that dropped. so now if you dont catch them on the day it release your stuck with rape prices. 2. there was nothing but little kid sizes or big feet sizes, they was worn out and reselling them for 1/2 or 3/4 the retail price. like do you see what your selling? 3. they dont clean or take care of the kicks. 4. nooooo one was trying to shell out 300-400 dollars on kicks released with in the last 12-14months
I went there and I do not see what the hype is about. First off, there's nothing there but a bunch of lil nerds running around with dirty sneakers in the smallest sizes possible. then you have the biggest dudes there with size 12, 13 and 14 kicks that no one wants. everything hot there, no one had in a size 9 and if they did, they were either beat down or extremely overpriced. take the Kixclusive table. those dudes are in such competition with Flight Club that they will charge anything to say they sold the sneaker before flightclub can. Plus, it smelled like stink feet in there as some of those lil kids do nothing but play and stink up the kicks they are trying to sell. I don't think i'll attend another one of these in NY. I hear the one in Miami is much better. kudos to everyone that had a decent pick-up
