"I can't go through the Haunted Wood, Marilla," cried Anne desperately.

Marilla stared.

desperately:ひどく,必死に

「回り道をして30分余計にかけるって！　私でもあんたに追いつくよ！」

「マリラ、幽霊の出る森を通り抜けては行けないわ」必死になってアンは言った。

マリラはアンをじっと見つめる。
