赤毛のアン13章13

We have got our house fixed up elegantly. You must
come and see it, Marilla--won't you? We have great
big stones, all covered with moss, for seats, and
boards from tree to tree for shelves. And we have
all our dishes on them. Of course, they're all broken
but it's the easiest thing in the world to imagine
that they are whole. There's a piece of a plate with
a spray of red and yellow ivy on it that is especially
beautiful.

私たちね、その家を上品に飾りつけたから、見に来てよ、
マリラ－－お願い。大きくて立派な石はどれもコケに覆わ
れていて、それが椅子なの。木から木へは板を置いて棚代
わりに使ってます。食器は全部その上。当然全部壊れたも
のだけど、完全な食器だって想像するのは簡単よ。赤と黄
色のツタの小枝を描いたお皿があって、それはもう美しいわ。
