and ribbon grass and mint; purple Adam-and-Eve, daffodils,
and masses of sweet clover white with its delicate,
fragrant, feathery sprays; scarlet lightning that shot
its fiery lances over prim white musk-flowers; a garden

かけている。ベニカノコソウが燃えるような枝を槍のよう
に伸ばしているのはとりすましたアメリカミゾホオズキの
頭上だ。日が名残を惜しみ、ミツバチが羽音を立て、庭に
魅せられたのか、庭のあちこちを風がさ迷い花々が揺れ葉っ
ぱがさらさらと鳴る。
