Marilla set the candle on a three-legged,
three-cornered table and turned down the bedclothes.

"I suppose you have a nightgown?" she questioned.

Anne nodded.

turn down:折り返す
bedclothes:寝具
nightgown:ねまき
nod:うなずく

足が3本の三角テーブルにローソクを置くと、マリラは
寝具を折り返した。

「寝巻きは持っているね」マリラは訊ねた。
