Twitter社が、次のとおり、新機能「Twitter Circle」（サークル）をテスト中だと発表した。
「Twitter Circle is a way to send Tweets to select people, and share your thoughts with a smaller crowd. You choose who’s in your Twitter Circle, and only the individuals you’ve added can reply to and interact with the Tweets you share in the Circle.
Note: Twitter Circle is in its early stages right now, and only a limited number of people globally can create Twitter Circle Tweets. Anyone invited to a Twitter Circle can interact with them. 」
次のような意味だ。
「Twitter Circle（サークル）は、特定の人にツイートを送信し、より少ない人々の間であなたの考えを共有するための方法である。ユーザーは、Twitterサークルに参加する人を選択し、追加した人だけがサークルで共有したツイートに返信したり、交流したりできる。
（注T）witterサークルは現在初期段階にあり、Twitterサークルのツイートを作成できるのは世界でも限られた人たちだけだ。Twitterサークルに招待された人は、誰でも交流することができる」
