式部省(しきぶしょう)は、律令制官司の八省の一つで、太政官の左弁官に属し、式部の司、式部とも呼ばれた。 平安宮大内裏の南側、 大内裏正門である朱雀門を入ったすぐ東側にあった。西側に武官人事を担当した兵部省と対になっていた。二条大路を隔て大学寮に面していた。
The Ministry of Ceremonial (Shikibu-shō) was one of the eight ministries of the Ritsuryō system and was under the control of the Left Department of the Grand Council of State. It was also known as the Bureau of Ceremonial or simply Shikibu. It was located on the south side of the Heian Palace Daidairi, just east of the Suzaku Gate, which was the main gate of the palace. It was paired with the Ministry of Military Affairs (Hyōbu-shō), which was responsible for military personnel affairs, located on the west side. It faced the Daigakuryō (Imperial University) across Nijō Ōji.
