Susan Barron and her son Jordan fell out after the end of the party in Dundee on Saturday September 15, and Jordan went into his room with a friend.Barron walked in carrying two knives and dropped one of them, before throwing the other at her son from six feet away. It struck him in the centre of his chest.He was taken to hospital with "life threatening" injuries and doctors said if he had not been treated he would have died.On Monday, Jordan was in court to support his mother as she was sentenced for the attack.
A sheriff said he would not jail Barron as her son had "tried his level best not to implicate her from the outset". Fire crews were still monitoring the structure
, she will be supervised for two years and attend appointments with a psychologist.Fiscal depute Trina Sinclair told Dundee Sheriff Court: "The majority of people left the party in the early hours of September 15, leaving Jordan Barron, his mother and a small group of other witnesses at the address."The accused and Jordan Barron could be heard arguing and she was angry with him. Jordan entered a bedroom and was hugged by a friend, and the accused then repeatedly entered the room, argued with him and left.
"She then entered holding two knives and he could see one was a large kitchen knife. She dropped one and continued to argue with him, then threw the large knife in the direction of Jordan Barron from a distance of two metres."It hit him in the chest and there was a wound where it had struck him that was bleeding heavily. She became hysterical and ran out of the flat. She was heard in the close shouting 'I've just stabbed him' and 'what have I done?'"At about 1pm police were summoned by paramedics in attendance - she was heard shouting 'my son, my son, I never meant it'.
