マットが先日リリースした、『The Unreleased』についてのインタビューに答えてくれました。

◆今年はワーナーミュージックからメジャーデビューアルバム『ONGAKU』をリリースされましたが、今はどんな気持ちですか？
Q -You released your major debut album”ONGAKU” with Waner Music this year, how do you feel now?
このアルバムを日本のリスナーの方が高く評価してくれて、チャートでも上位にランクインしたことがとても嬉しいし、感謝しているよ。
このアルバムは僕がここ日本で感じたこと、そして音楽を通して感じたことをそのまま歌にしてリリースしたんだけど、日本の皆に親しみのある楽曲を歌うことで（例えば日本語曲の英語カヴァー）より多くの人に僕の名前を知ってもらうことができたし、僕自身本当に良かったことだって思ってる。
それで、今までとは比べものにならないくらい、たくさんの人が僕のライブを観に来てくれるようになったんだからね。

Q -Why did you decide to release this album 『The Unreleased』?
アルバムのタイトルが『ONGAKU』ってなっているように、日本の音楽をテーマにコンセプトが凄く明確に打ち出されていると思うんだけど、他にもアルバムにくわえる為にたくさんの楽曲をクリエイトしていたんだよ。
だから、その楽曲達が聴いてもらえないのは残念だし、せっかくならそれらを未発表音源集という作品にして皆に聴いて貰いたいって思ったんだ。
(Matt Cab) -The concept for ONGAKU was very unique and specific, but in addition to making songs for the album, we created a lot of other great songs. I think it would be a waste if they weren't heard and I wanted to be able to release these original songs and remixes to my fans.
Q -You mean this album includes a lot of rare songs?
そうそう！あれもこれも、他では聴くことができないレアな楽曲が収録されたアルバムだから、皆とシェアできるのを楽しみにしているよ！
◆ このアルバムにはインディーズデビューシングルの『The One』の2013 Remix も収録されていますね。
Q -Also this album includes the 2013 Remix of your indie debut single『The One』
そうなんだよ。この”The One”は僕が日本でリリースした最初の曲で、僕のことを皆に知ってもらう大きなきっかけになった大切な曲。だから僕はこれまで色んな場所でこの曲を歌ってきたし、勿論今でも歌っているんだけど、これを機にもっと現代風なサウンドにして新鮮な感覚で聴いて貰いたかったんだ。だからこの2013 Remixは、皆気に入ってくれるんじゃないかなあ。
(Matt Cab)-That's right! "The One" was my first big song in Japan and a lot of Japanese listeners first heard about me through this song. I've also performed it around Japan for quite some time now, so I wanted to give listeners a fresh and modern sound. With the remix, I think you can really appreciate the song in a new way.
Q -What do you want to try in 2014?
2013年は僕にとってとても有益な年だったけど、2014年にはさらに有益な年にしたいな。
だからもっともっと日本の素晴らしいアーティスト達とコラボしたいし、僕自身からも良い音楽が発信できたら良いなって思ってる。そして何より、それらを通じてファンの皆と一緒に成長できることを僕は願っているよ
(Matt Cab)-2013 was a very productive year for me, but I want to go even farther in 2014. I hope to continue collaborating with more Japanese artists while also releasing my own quality original music. Most importantly, I want to continue growing my relationship with my fans !!
Q -Come to think of it, there is a special gift included when you download this album right?
