After he got done recording Possession, something he did mostly by himself, Ty Segall was ready to rock out with his bros again. He gathered his usual band -- guitarist/vocalist Emmett Kelly, bassist/vocalist Mikal Cronin, keyboardist Ben Boye, and drummer Evan Burrows -- wrote some songs, then rehearsed the stuffing out of them for a month straight. After that, they went into the studio with producer Cooper Crain, and six days later, Chrome was ready to be shipped. The album is a return to the hard and heavy style of rock & roll Segall does so well, with touches of garage rock, psychedelia, prog, and metal all jammed together and then sprinkled with Segall's knack for a catchy hook and the band's tendency to shred like nobody’s business.
