80点相当  shatter the standards.

出だしから、結構期待させるのだが、
アルバム通すと、

サウンド的には
思ったより いろいろ使い古された感じが残った。

A therapist advised Adanna Duru to put it all behind her, but she didn’t like the piece of advice very much. There must be something in the Nigerian-American singer raised in Orange County that encourages her to dwell on every slight until it brings a new song to life—cheaters, fake friends, and her tastes in men included. But she can become tender instantly if only there is a worthy man to appreciate it. And both moods she treats the same seriously on THE NAIJAMERICAN DREAM.

After getting hit and quit several times, she starts praying and saving money, becoming a solitary creature. However, she is willing to give away everything on “Passenger Seat” if only the man in the driver’s seat promises never to leave her alone, leaving her worries high above the lower deck. Then she repeats the same game on “One on One,” booking the night with the person she believes could fall in love with her someday, but it’s not today since she wants to feel the vibe, and warns: “If you wanna, maybe you could make me water/If you treat me nicely, I could be your Aphrodite.” Bas accepts the challenge and offers her a ride until five o’clock in the morning, punning the “Marriott Bonvoy” into “bon voyage” into “bon appétit,” and claims other women get nothing from him but crickets.
